Can I rent only part of a storage space?

Some Hosts allow you to rent only part of their storage space. This is known as “flexi space” and will be indicated as an option if available.

Will the space be air-conditioned?

You can see what kind of features the space has on the listing under the “Features” section.

Message the Host using our messenger function to get a clearer idea of the facilities and features available in their storage space.

Do I need insurance?

We recommend you get insurance for your belongings. However, we do provide a Protection Guarantee to pay an amount in compensation for loss or damage of property, subject to our Terms and Conditions.

Will anyone help me move in?

This will depend on your arrangements with the Host. However, moving-in services are not normally provided on Cubbiq.

When can I access the space during the day?

You can see the space access policy under the “Access” section in a listing. The spare room may be located in your Host’s home, so it’s up to you to arrange the most appropriate times to access your belongings. Or, you can rent another type of property, such as an office space or even a shipping container.

If I rent only part of the space (flexi space), will other people have access to my belongings?

No, but the space will be shared with other people so we recommend that you keep an inventory of your items, together with photos, and have your items properly secured.

How much can I make renting out space?

Your earnings will depend on what kind of space you have and where it's located. You can list the space and see the monthly price suggested for the type of space.

What is the Notice Period?

The User (Host or Renter) needs to provide at least 1 month's notice to end their booking unless it has a fixed end time.

Does Cubbiq charge a fee?

Listing the space on Cubbiq is free of charge, while all the bookings have a Service Fee. The fee is included in the rental price paid by the Renter. In this way, the Host is not charged directly.

How to reset my password?

If you forgot your password or have trouble logging in to your account, reset your password by contacting us at, and we'll get you back in no time!

How can I rent out storage safely during the COVID-19 pandemic?

To decrease the COVID-19 spread and keep yourself safe please follow these simple rules:

  • Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth when in public places.
  • Keep the distance with people outside of your household.
  • Often wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Reschedule your meetings and activities if you don’t feel well. Do not hesitate to contact if you’d like to update your reservation.

What are forbidden items for storage?

It is forbidden to store the following items under any circumstances:

  • toxic, hazardous, polluted, radioactive or contaminated goods;
  • firearms, munitions, weapons or explosives;
  • radioactive materials;
  • flammable or hazardous goods including petrol, gas, oil, paint, white spirit or lighter fluid;
  • living or dead plants, animals, insects, fungus or bacteria;
  • foods and drinks including fruit, vegetables, meat or cheese;
  • damp, mouldy, rotten or infested items damaged by parasites;
  • items emitting fumes or strong smell, producing gas or leaking liquid;
  • cash and securities;
  • illegal goods including drugs or stolen property;
  • items creating noise, generating heat, or increasing in size
  • liquid of any type;
  • or any item whose storage invalidates insurance policy that otherwise covers the items or the Storage Space.

About storage in spare rooms

You can rent spare rooms or even parts of Hosts’ spare rooms (which is the “flexi space” option) to store your belongings.

If, for example, your apartment is being renovated and you’re looking to store some of your items somewhere safe for a while, this would be the perfect option.

The advantage of storing your stuff in someone’s spare room is that, at least while they’re at home, they can keep an eye on your belongings. But in a place like Singapore, break-ins are very unlikely, so even if your Host is out, it’s unlikely your things will be in much danger.

Some Hosts may even have 24-hour climate control and some sort of dehumidification system to provide the perfect environment to store your items, although be prepared to pay more for such features. It will still likely be cheaper than renting a self-storage unit, however.

The downside, of course, is that you may not be able to access your items whenever you want. Weekday evenings and weekends may be inconvenient times for your Host, or on the contrary, the only convenient times if they don’t pass you the keys or request that you only access their place when they’re present. If you need “high access” to your things, we’d recommend renting a standalone facility such as an outhouse, shed, shipping container or even a garage or lock-up.
